What I’m up to ...
Something that doesn’t look like advertising. The kind of work that excites, inspires, surprises and engages consumers in a way that makes them fall in love with a brand.
The latest campaign I’m working on ...
The new TV spots for University of Phoenix called “Gail” and “Larry”. Two amazing alumni with real and strong ‘determination’ stories. Another brave project we’re working on is for Boost Mobile, called “Boost your Voice,” a beautiful purposeful piece of work that shines the light on the difficulty and obstacles minority and low-income voters face when trying to cast their ballot and demanding equal voting access for all Americans.
The best piece of creative work around at the moment is ...
The Martin Agency’s spot for organ donation is fun and beautiful, and at the same time, very entertaining with an incredibly powerful message.
The next big advertising trend is going to be ...
Branded entertainment, product design and ideas based on data. We need to effectively integrate more of our brands into the entertainment world, without interrupting people. We need to make better products for our clients, working seamlessly as part of their company. We also need to understand how the amazing data we are collecting today can help us create amazing things that connect with people and inspire everyone.
People/companies who influence me ...
Wow, so many people have inspired me in the last few years, but one I’d love to mention is PJ Pereira, my former boss and still a mentor. This guy is a genius, a visionary; he knows where advertising is going. He’s also a Kung Fu master and a best-seller book writer. So… you know what I am talking about.
In a film about my life, I’d like to be played by ...
Old Ben Stiller with a gray mustache.
A word or phrase I overuse ...
Better to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission.
My last social media update said ...
"Thank you to the Golden Drum team for inviting me to be one of your jury presidents. This is a great honor.”
My dream collaboration (both personal & professional) is ...
A badass short or feature film or an amazing cool product for one of our clients that my friends and family would love to watch or use.
I teach in an ad school, because ...
I learn a lot. You get excitingly fresh thinking from these kids. It’s just like a life update, I really love it.
