Who's Who: Andy Glass

Andy is renowned as one of the world's leading talents at seamlessly blending pure photography, digital enhancement, and computer generated elements.

How I got into advertising?

While I was at University studying Photography, I had a job as a cycle courier for a photographer’s rep lugging around really heavy portfolios full of 10x8 transparencies around the London agencies. I loved seeing the work that was being done and learning about the business.

A rundown of the most recent campaign I worked on…

TV reality program "Hunted" for Channel 4 – a series of images of every day folk evading capture for 28 days to win a cash prize from specialized hunters.

The best piece of creative work around at the moment is...

Hands down, the "We are Superhumans" Rio Paralympics trailer done by C4Creative – clever, emotional, entertaining and beautifully realised: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IocLkk3aYlk

The next big advertising trend is going to be…

Virtual Reality – you are more likely to sell stuff if your customer can interact, touch, feel and explore what they are going to buy.

The piece of advertising work I wish I had thought of is…

The original Absolut ads – I was lucky enough to work on 15 images of that campaign – simple idea, adaptive and effective communication using photography with great art direction.

My favourite digital tool/app at the moment…

Still Photoshop, it’s hard to remember life before it. I use Weather Pro and Helios a lot on location too.

In a film about my life, I’d like to be played by…

Some young, handsome bloke with better taste in clothes who can act a bit.

A word or phrase I overuse…

Is it sharp?

My last social media update said…

"Today’s cubicle."

My dream collaboration is…

To work alongside either Richard Long or Andy Goldsworthy – hugely inspirational Land Artists.

A piece of criticism I’ve received was...

I didn’t leave the tea bag in for long enough – my wife is quite rightly fussy about the important things in life.

A great piece of advice I received…

Concentrate on 3 things: subject matter, composition and the quality of light. Simple.
