How you got into advertising in a sentence?
Ever since stumbling across Photoshop at college and realising MS Paint wasn’t in fact the best software to help me become a graffiti artist! Those smooth brushes were mind blowing. After watching 100’s of tutorials and going through countless magazines I started to understand the true power of this software. Being able to create the impossible with no restrictions on creativity. If you could imagine it you could almost certainly use Photoshop to create it. I loved that and still do!
The most recent campaign you’ve worked on?
We’ve just finished working on some nice fruity explosions for Chris Turner and JWT London.
The best piece of creative work around at the moment is?
I thought the Amazon Prime Video ‘Great shows stay with you’ was brilliant - I’m sure we can all relate to them!
The next big thing in advertising is going to be?
AR and AI! No big news there.
The piece of advertising work you wish you had thought of is?
I do love an Audi advert – the ‘RS 3 Birth’ video always sticks in my mind. The art direction and sound design is stunning. I was left slightly traumatised the first time I watched it but also couldn’t wait to see it again!
The internet/digital tool you couldn’t live without is?
That would have to be Photoshop – I use it all day, every day!
In a film about my life, you’d like to be played by?
Chris Hemsworth - Looks like my total opposite but my wife is slightly obsessed with him and my boy is a big Thor fan.
A word or phrase I overuse?
Stop biting your brother!
Your last social media update said?
“She’s getting bigger!” – Referring to my 9 month old daughter of course!
Your dream collaboration is?
Too many to list. There are so many amazing Photographers and Directors out there creating great work. I’m just grateful to have worked with so many in my career so far and look forward to working with many more!
A piece of criticism you’ve received was?
“You could pick apart anything” – I can’t help myself. If I see clone repeats or any other signs that an image has been retouched I can’t help but point it out. To which my wife usually says, ‘Who else is going to notice that?’ Probably a fair point. But still!
The last piece of music you listened to was?
AC/DC - You’re a sucker for some 80’s rock!
