Who is Who: Otis D. Gibson

For this edition of Who is Who we bring you the founder and Chief Creative Officer of GERTRUDE, INC, Oz Mfg Company, and Raye. With over 25 years of experience in almost all facets of advertising, he’s got some of the best and most innovative companies worldwide under his belt, including Google, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, and Kraft, to name but a few.

Otis’ agency GERTRUDE leads the way in brand development, advertising and marketing, with a recently launched experiential, branded architecture and environmental design division called Raye. Otis himself holds an MBA from Steinbeis School of Management and Innovation and a seat on the Board of Directors for the Art Directors Club as well as the Ad Council.

With GERTRUDE approaching its 11^th birthday, it’s hard to imagine they will be able to top last year’s milestone celebration, in which the agency celebrated numerous highlights including the relocation to a new global HQ office in Chicago. Gibson led the design of the new office space transforming it into an innovative “industrial mid-century modern” office space.

On the Client front, GERTRUDE led creative and strategic duties for two important Diageo Innovation brands: first, a brand renovation and re-launch of I.W. Harper Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, a 142-year-old bourbon, followed by developing and launching the new-born brand, Studebaker Expertly Crafted Whiskey Cocktails.
