"Control what you can control."
This sentence was not written by me. I'm quoting the unforgettable former Nº1 tennis player Andre Agassi. Double A was not trying to say that we must control everything as much as we can. And yes, the opposite.
We have to do our best but we have to consider that there a lot of unpredictable things in life like what we have been going through at this moment with the Covid-19.
Ok, but what should we do now? What can we do? What can we control now?
Well, what depends on us, what is in our hands.
First of all, for those who can stay home, please do it.
For those who can keep your employees hired, please do it.
For those who can hire, please do it.
For those who can share your knowledge, please do it.
Here at Ogilvy Brazil we have moved fast. Our team is safe working from home and we’re trying to be more connected than ever, chasing relevant opportunities that make real sense for our clients. Lastly, I think it’s time to have empathy and of course, a lot of patience like a tennis player playing a tough game.
André Agassi used not to be the best example of patience out of the courts, but as you can see he could be a good copywriter and I truly agree with his quote.
It’s time to control what we can control, do our part, and everything is gonna be alright.
Take care. Peace.
