As a photographer, it is natural for me to see great moments in everyday life. However, as with many professionals, I do not always want to take my work home with me. The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the world, and for me it has forced me to ‘bring my work home’ in the best way possible.
I have three small children (3 and under) and the self-isolation of the Covid-19 pandemic is hard on everyone, but my children are too young to remember this time with no visits from friends, trips to the zoo, hugs from grandparents, and no breaks for mom and dad.
So I decided to document their little lives in these authentic decisive moments practicing self isolation during the pandemic with my iPhone.
I’ve chosen the iPhone as I feel the consistency of the look and feel from when I first captured the first image is important as well as keeping the whole series in B&W. The feeling I get reminds me of the images shot during the Great Depression and think that coincides well with what we’re all trying to live through today.
