It’s not my usual situation, nor is it my usual office, but in the time of Covid 19, it’ll have to do. Getting to my new “office” presents quite the challenge – every morning I must pay a toll to my 6 yr-old to access it, only after battling my 4 yr-old Lava Monster!
At week 2 of social distancing, I was still getting calls from clients and wrapping up jobs done pre-Covid, but had no desk to use, so built one out of what was available. Being and staying creative is a part of life for me. Being able to offer recent clients alternatives to their requests and making it all happen through creative shooting with a very bare-bones crew – ME – and then brewing it all together with CGI makes me feel more creative than ever. All of this in the interim of moving forward with shoots at a later date. With my extra free time, my “honey-do” list has been growing steadily but once that sweet obligation is over, I get to work on personal work consisting of a series of short films on day-to-day life and moments. Just using a 100mm macro and My Sony, I’ve completed 6 videos which I’ve uploaded to my Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/timsuttonphoto/), and I’m still shooting.
To look out my second story window in Long Beach, CA, you wouldn’t know we were in a pandemic. Still a ton of hustle and bustle in the street, but I’m trying to do my part for my family and for my community.
