Atlanta has been under shelter in place orders for 5 weeks. Supposedly the city has started reopening but nothing feels different yet - most people think it’s all way too soon and I tend to agree.
I finished shooting several client projects right before everything went on lockdown so the first couple weeks in doors were spent retouching.
But afterwards, I have to admit I got sucked into a Covid media vortex for a bit - it took a couple days to pull myself out and focus on something else. I checked our emergency supplies (due diligence), made sure my wife and I are prepared (except for toilet paper which is still somehow totally MIA to this day), sent some funds here and there to help where we could, and began planning how to adapt (remote/ virtual shoot production, bolstering cgi skill arsenal, etc).
All good, but I am starting to go a little stir crazy - I really miss the outdoors so I’m pretty much living on our little balcony where I can see the sun and sky.
I’m optimistic, leaning into whatever changes come with a new appreciation for things, and looking forward more than ever to the next creative brief.
