While filming an SDG&E Package of spots during the early days of COVID we decided to create a short docu-style piece to illustrate the precautions we were taking to keep client, cast, and crew safe while still being able to produce to the level that people have come to expect from us.
We were following the DGA and Texas Film Commission guidelines and wanted to show others what that looked like on a live set.
The biggest challenge working during these unprecedented times has really been getting adjusted to these different conditions and for me, directing through a mask all day has been challenging. Regardless, COVID is a real thing and it is serious, we knew then as we do now that we all want and need to work. Nobody wants to get sick and nobody should.
I will say that I hope this is not the new normal and that it passes soon with the news of the vaccine.
When we all got back to work in May, we remembered why we do what we do and how much fun it really is.
Also, I believe that future work is going to get much better since everyone has had to step off the treadmill for a minute and has been forced to reassess their true direction.
