The successful maiden voyage of the ADC*E-CREATIVE EXPRESS has taken place in Austria.
The experiment: 21 young creatives from all over Europe, five mentors, one brief and a stack of Lürzer's Archive magazines for inspiration.
The lab: A first class Railjet wagon of the Austrian Federal Railway (ÖBB) heading for Vienna from Innsbruck.
The goal: Create a campaign for "Train beats street“, encouraging car drivers to take the train.
The deadline: The creatives have just four hours and 15 minutes to complete their task.
The CREATIVE EXPRESS concept came from Munich ADC member Hans-Peter Albrecht. "I was inspired by the idea of Design Thinking", said the "chief-conductor" of the CREATIVE EXPRESS.
"I was curious about the ideas being created when the designers are, so to speak, sitting right within the product, in the 'problem'."
With Lürzer's Archive as ideas partner, Albrecht was able to win the Austrian Federal Railway, ÖBB, as the main sponsor for the ADC*E. Their head of communication, Kristine Hanusch-Linser, was enthusiastic about the basic idea and the ideas being created:
"Europe's creative offspring giving us the honour fits magnificently. After all, our new central station is really located right in the middle of Europe. The presented ideas are absolutely unbelievable. Fantastic."
Albrecht was delighted by the creative power of the experiment.
"I never imagined how much the set-up of the experiment – everyone in a first class wagon, no distraction, but on the contrary, permanent pollination – how many additional creative vibes this "lab" produces."
