Lily Allen plays cupid in a short film about a woman who falls in love with a tennis player. “40 Love” is part of Cornetto’s Cupidity series of long-form ads.
Directed by Lloyd Lee Choi of The Herd, the nine-minute ad unfolds the story of two women who are brought together by Cupid – who, in this case, comes in the form of a Lily Allen cameo. Game, set and it's a match made in heaven when the young girl finds herself as an accidental target for love.
Her relationship with the tennis pro doesn't start off well but, as with the other ads in the series, there is a sweet ending. Dinah Washington and Wild Child are amongst the artists who feature on 40 Love’s soundtrack.
Other films in the series by MoFilm include “Drawings & Dreams” featuring a girl who doesn't know if the boy she likes has even noticed her. But they are drawn together by shared creative passions. Meanwhile “Love Ride” is a story about not letting love pass you by, where a pretty twenty-something meets the girl of his dreams on the bus, but she gets off before he has a chance to speak to her.
In “The Oasis” a girl sets out to relive her mother's road trip, but when her map gets destroyed will she be guided by this edition’s Cupid, José Maria de Tavira? Watch to find out if the mysterious young hitch hiker she has met on her travels ends up as her destination.
In 2013 RSA was approached by MoFilm to help rebrand Cornetto through four short films. Kismet Diner, Beauty And The Geek, Margot and X-Phobia garnered 16 million minutes of viewing in the first two weeks of its release. You can watch them here.
