IN SEARCH OF INCREDIBLE

As part of the ASUS and Intel “In Search of Incredible” campaign, Jason Harrington has directed three spots starring two dedicated Skyliners.

The spots by Havas New York and Paydirt Pictures were filmed at the Mont Blanc in the French Alps and have a surprisingly calming and cinematic quality considering that these are two people living on the edge (unlike Volvo’s “Ballerina Stunt” viral from 2012 which had viewers on the edge of their seats).

“Zenbook”, “Taichi” and “Transformerbook” introduces us to renowned high-lining (also approapriately dubbed “Skylining”) couple Ingrid Laillaut and Julien Millot who depict Emma and Andre. We see them taking their sport to new heights and using their computers to document their incredible stunts at 7,500ft.

“You have this whole process of getting yourself ready for the line. You have to mentally prepare yourself because you’re battling instinctual fear to not do what you’re about to do,” says stunt co-ordinator, Faith.

The crew and cast braved dangerous wind, snow and cold to capture the breath taking location on film.

“I only slept in 15-minute intervals because in between the rain, hail and the avalanches and rocks falling in the distance, and the wind – 50 mph winds – it has been an incredible journey,” says senior art director, Christian Serna.

With a British director, French production company, Italian film crew, American agency and the Taiwanese client - the team behind the campaign is a truly international one.

“It’s always interesting that a piece of paper and a couple of ideas jotted down turn out to be 50 or 60 people all travelling from all different parts of the world with a huge crew and just an insane amount of organisation and equipment – all of that is the result of an idea,” says executive creative director, Christian Carl.

They are live on the campaign’s In Search of Incredible website. ASUS has also released a long format version which combining all the footage into a short film.
