The BBC goes dark and epic in their Sochi Winter Olympics 2014 coverage campaign.
The BBC has released its first campaign trailing its coverage of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, which begins on 7 February – and it has a very Game of Thrones feel about it.
Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R created the dark ad, in which the actor Charles Dance (who plays Tywin Lannister in the HBO fantasy drama) narrates a poem as the voice of nature as athletes demonstrate their skills on a rough mountaintop terrain. The epic theme is very in keeping with RKCR/Y&R’s previous Olympic campaigns for BBC Sport.
The spot ends with the line: "Nature. Who will conquer it?" It was created by Barnaby Blackburn and Gustavo Kopit, and directed by Tomek Baginski through Stink and Red Bee Media.
