It’s a Shetland Pony moonwalking across the Scottish highlands to Fleetwood Mac (of course!). Mobile network Three’s campaign is the latest animal ad to go viral.
The popular advert - which also features as our Spot of the Week 2013/11 - stars a pony called Socks and was created by the agency Wieden + Kennedy to demonstrate that mobile network Three understand that "silly stuff" is important to its users. It debuted early March and has already sparked several parodies – giving the Harlem Shake a run for its money.
The new ad from Three Mobile shot straight to the top of the most shared branded videos in March with over three million views and a quarter of a million shares, as well as generating quite a buzz across social media channels using the #DancePonyDance hashtag.
Fancy making your own version? As well as the film, W+K has conjured up even more ways for the campaign to be shared via “The Pony Mixer”, an online app that is available on Three's YouTube channel and allows users to create and share (on social media platforms Twitter and Facebook) their own remixed videos of the pony performing to different musical genres. Users can choose from the likes of Rock, Punk and even Bollywood for that extra bit of silliness and fun.
The trailer below shows how the app works:

This is not the first time that adorable ponies have been used in advertising. A month ago Visit Scotland dressed ponies Vitamin and Fivla in some of the cosiest looking Fair Isle knitwear.
