Legends on board Turkish airlines attempt to wow a little flyer.

In this spot from Turkish agency Alametifarika, we see Lionel Messi and Kobe Bryant competing for the affection of a kid on board their flight. Both sportsmen attempt to wow with what they do best – ball handling skills.

Leo shows off his quick footwork whilst Kobe tries to grab the attention of the little passenger with the best basketball spins you’ll ever see attempted on a plane.

However, the competitiveness reaches new heights and before you know it, there are balloon animals and playing card mansions being constructed on the flight.

The airline’s advertising has a history of associating itself with global sports stars. Argentinian footballer and FC Barcelona striker, Messi, was named as a global brand ambassador in December 2012.

He joins the ranks of Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant and tennis player Caroline Wozniacki who have been brand ambassadors since 2011 and 2010 respectively. They have also had campaigns featuring players from Manchester United Football Club.

Released before the New Year, the spot already had 57 million YouTube hits in less than two weeks.

The Turkish agency has previously created advertising for the airline, including the "Honour belongs to us all" spot with the slogan: "Turkish Airlines now flies to more countries than any other airline in the world. Carrying our flag and national anthem all over the world."
