Lyric Speaker is a prototype speaker by Japanese agency Six that lets users experience the lyrics of a song.
Six’s Lyric Speaker is a prototype Bluetooth speaker that reproduces music played on a mobile phone. While a song plays, the lyrics display in lovely typography on a transparent monitor, creating words that can also be projected on the walls of a room.
“It has become increasingly easy to listen to music whenever you want as a result of the permeation of the digital transmission of music. Yet, on the other hand, the use of lyric inserts in records and CDs has decreased, and we feel that our opportunity to ‘Take time to enjoy Lyrics’ has diminished,” says Japanese agency, Six.
“And so we developed Lyric Speaker as a Platform to enable listeners to enjoy the words, which make up half the components of music - in order to delve deeper into the music of the artists .To enjoy words as interior design.
“We are putting this slightly futuristic audio-visual experience out there for everyone. By penetration of the digital distribution of music, we will be able to enjoy the music anytime. But ‘to enjoy the lyrics thoroughly’.”
Six say that the usability is simple. Users download the app and connect it to "Lyric Speaker". The speaker with the built-in beautiful translucent transmission screen will automatically display the artist's lyrics.
The prototype for the speaker made its worldwide debut at the Big Parade, Japan’s first music festival celebrating the digital age.
