The latest Land Rover film by Dante Ariola doubles as a gaming experience, which puts the user in the driver seat to take the Range Rover Sport through its paces.
Land Rover's “Race the Sun” is an HTML5 desktop-based interactive film that also doubles as a game which users control via their mobile phone or keyboard.
In the James Bond-like experience, users follow a driver as he races to deliver a Range Rover to a hidden location before sunset.
Using cutting edge WebSocket technology, viewers can sync their smart phone to the film as it plays, enabling them to view the footage and experience the game on their device in real time.
Three different games highlight the Range Rover Sport's acceleration, agility and off-road capabilities.
"We developed Race the Sun to be a unique, engaging way for current and future customers to interact with the new Range Rover Sport," says Kim McCullough, Brand Vice President, Land Rover North America.
"With three gaming elements, a simple configurator and 360º views of the interior and exterior of the vehicle, Race the Sun will provide an immersive new experience of the Range Rover Sport."
The project was developed by Y&R New York, Wunderman, and Stinkdigital. The film was directed by MJZ's Dante Ariola.
