Argentine photographer, Ale Burset, has featured in our magazine as well as our 200 Best series for his ad work. He got into photography when working as a journalist: “During an interview I accidentally took a picture and I could not stop taking pictures after that.”

The first thing I do in my day is...
I wake up at six in the morning because my children go to school and I like to wake up early in order to drink a cup of mate - a traditional herb infusion - while I listen to music, answer emails and read the newspaper.
At the moment I am working on...
Four different interesting projects. I would love to say more about them, but they are still under wraps. I’m always doing personal projects too. I recently finished my book “Baroque” and am already working on the next one.
The best piece of creative work around at the moment is... (What makes it so?)
I can’t name one piece of work as the best, because I think there are so many great images and ideas out there. Thank God, the wonder of my profession is that it surprises you all the time. Everything surprises you and when you think that something is not going to – boom! It does.
I am inspired by...
The things that move me are seeing my children laughing, sharing things with my wife, my family and my friends. And at work, everything that moves me ends up being an element of inspiration at some point. I believe in one valuable thing when I’m working - that whatever I do has to be completely loaded with emotion and passion. Without emotion I’m not available to do what I do.
This year I’ll be attending...
I hope to continue to travel on nourishing journeys and get to know people and places and learn. I also hope to attend Cannes again as well as other festivals; it’s always a pleasure.
In a film about my life, I’d like to be played by...
My children.
The screen background on my mobile phone is ...
A personal picture taken with the fisherman on shoot of BBDO’s “Fisherman’s Tale” campaign.
My last social media update mentioned...
Images I captured which reinterpret baroque art as part of a new campaign for Badillo Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi, Puerto Rico.
My dream collaboration is...
Perhaps it sounds a little pretentious, but I would love to collaborate someday with the Museum of Modern Art. It would be an honour to have some of my art exhibited there. They say that dream doesn’t cost anything, so if we going to dream better, dream big. You waste the same energy dreaming little as dreaming big.
In up and coming talent, I look for...
First of all - good people with good values. That is so much important than their knowledge for me. Knowledge can be gained with time, but values are instilled when you are a child. In my team, I always look for spirit that resembles a group of friends or family.
A piece of criticism I’ve received was...
For a long time people told me that I took photos that were too dark. Thank God I quit listening to them some years ago, haha!
The last piece of music I listened to was...
John Coltrane’s “Blue Train”.
