How Carioca came about...
One of us started early in the art profession, drawing from the age of four. We continued with art studies and after graduation worked for eight years as art directors in several advertising agencies including McCann, Y&R and JWT.
This motivated us to start Carioca Studio. The first projects would help us buy equipment for the next ones. Now we have agencies representing us in UK, France, Russia, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Turkey and Hong-Kong.
The first thing we do in our day is...
We can’t tell you.
At the moment we are working on...
We just got back from Shanghai where we shot the new campaign for a luxury hotel. It’s something about the 1920s. That’s all we can tell you. The rest is secret, for the moment. Stay tuned to Archive for further details.
The best piece of creative work around at the moment is...
All. Us.
We are inspired by...
Art.
This year we’ll be attending...
We’ve been invited to be part of the jury for Moscow’s Red Apple festival, we took part in Cannes and we’ll take part in Paris Photo. We are hoping to exhibit one of our projects.
The next big thing in advertising is going to be...
Ads for aliens; intergalactic pitch campaigns. Anyway, the advertising will be different. Telepathy, metempsychosis.
The piece of ad work we wish we had thought of is...
We have no regrets. There are a lot of things we want to do. Apart from that, we only want
to stay healthy and have all the strength we need to work.
In a film about our lives, we’d like to be played by...
Mickey Mouse and Daft Punk.
Our last social media update said...
On Instagram: photos from latest shoot in Shanghai. On Facebook: a “sexy” lady sunbathing in the graveyard, lying on a tombstone.
Our dream collaboration is...
Matthew Barney, Robert Wilson and Tom and Jerry.
In up and coming talent, we look for...
Quality.
A piece of criticism we’ve received was...
Nothing serious. Anyway, if you heard something tell us.
The last piece of music I listened to was...
Erykah Badoo “On and On (Booty Fade remix) just played on shuffle.
