Eduardo is creative director at McCann, Colombia. He says when he was a child his mother was thrilled because he had learned to read before going to preschool. “Later, she realised that what had really happened was that I recognised all the brands in magazines, billboards and newspapers. Ever since, the fondness for advertising has never stopped.”

The first thing I do in my day is...
Think that I should have gone to sleep earlier.
At the moment I am working on...
A couple of things: the most important campaign for Editorial Televisa magazine and my first electronic music single, because I also work as DJ and producer.
The best piece of creative work around at the moment is...
Even though it’s from last year, I love the Guardian “Three Little Pigs” ad from BBH London - not only for the great job done by the agency, but also because this newspaper placed its bets on open journalism, which does not represent not the future but the present news.
I am inspired by...
People, my creative team, music, space, childhood memories and a little psychedelia.
This year I’ll be attending...
I have not fully decided, but for the time being: D&AD, The One Show, Cannes Lions, FIAP, Ojo de Iberoamérica.
The next big thing in advertising is going to be...
I will not mention any one thing in particular, but I can tell that all big ideas that are helping brands to generate consumer experiences as well as making a positive contribution to society will be the first ones to earn the big prizes from our industry.
The piece of digital advertising work I wish I had thought of is...
I would have loved to be part of The Israeli-Palestinian mutual blood donation “Blood Relations” project from BBR Saatchi & Saatchi Israel. It is an absolutely beautiful piece of work for the simplicity of the idea and the result of a campaign, which combined social networks with the physical world. It is an example of union in a society that is tired of war and death.
In a film about my life, I’d like to be played by...
Hopefully by myself.
The screen background on my mobile phone is ...
Female Nude by Salvador Dalí.
My last social media update was...
A picture taken with my cell phone during a Digital concert in Bogota.
My dream collaboration is...
To have been part of the campaign “The Man Your Man Could Smell Like” for Old Spice. I loved how the brand associated with grandparents was repositioned for our generation, with a fresh and fun strategy. It interacted with people and spread on such a large scale via social media in just a few days, whilst other campaigns take years to achieve this.
In up and coming talent, I look for...
Young, creative people with digital knowledge but oriented towards the creation of new experiences for users. Many people believe that everything has to be digital just for the sake of it. But they forget that technique is worthless if we don't have valuable ideas which generate changes the attitudes of people and society.
A piece of criticism I’ve received was...
Not paying much attention to criticism.
The last piece of music I listened to was...
Heatwave by French producer Lifelike.
