Paco Conde moved from Madrid to Rio de Janeiro in 2011 to join Ogilvy Brazil, quickly working his way up to general creative director of Brazil.

How I got into advertising...
Thanks to my grandfather that took me to the cinema every week, to Stan lee because I grew up reading his comics, George Lucas for showing me the power of the Dark Side and the power of imagination, music and music videos. And thanks to Coca-Cola and Pepsi, because their campaigns from the ‘80s showed me that advertising could be very similar to all of the above.
The first thing I do in my day is...
I wake up really early and go to Ipanema Beach to play volley with some old men that play much better than me. After the game I take a bath in the sea. Then, while heading to the office I think how lucky I am to live in a city like Rio.
The best piece of creative work around at the moment is...
Anything on the Internet, made by someone anonymous from the living room of his home and probably in some unknown and distant place. It’s so good because, despite its lack of resources, it gets to millions of people who view it, like it, and share it.
At the moment I am working on...
A global project for Copa Coca-Cola. It's confidential so I can't speak too much about it.
I am inspired by...
People. I think they are the best source of inspiration. Their feelings, their lives and the way they relate. Cinema, literature and photography are all inspired by them - I think advertising should be too.
This year I’ll be attending...
I already went to El Ojo de Iberoamérica where Ogilvy Brazil was named the second best agency of the region. In May I'll be part of the jury of El Volcán Festival in Costa Rica. And in June I'll be attending the Cannes Festival.
The next big thing in advertising is going to be...
Ideas that make the world a better place to live.
The piece work I wish I had thought of is...
“Million” by Droga5. It taught me that more important than technology is the idea behind that technology.
In a film about my life, I’d like to be played by...
Someone like Marlon Brando or Brad Pitt. But to be honest, Danny DeVito would fit better.
My last social media update said...
Since I'm living in a country where it's always summer and full of beautiful beaches, my friends have forbidden me to post anything on Facebook or Twitter.
My dream collaboration is...
I'd love to write a pilot for a new HBO's series with David Simon, Aaron Sorkin and David Chase.
In up and coming talent, I look for...
A surprising, new and different way of looking at things. A spark in the eyes. An attitude.
A piece of criticism I’ve received was...
“You can do better” and I keep telling it to myself every day.
The last song I listened to was...
This morning I made a new playlist to listen to while riding my bike. It's full of old school metal bands like Metallica, Iron Maiden, AC/DC and Guns and Roses.
