Rob Messeter and Mike Crowe are creative directors at adam&eveDDB London (they brought us that hilarious Harvey Nichols "Walk of Shame" spot). The two met working a night shift at a “horrible financial printers in Peckham”. Finishing early one night, they went to the local pub, “won a bottle of Bacardi in a raffle and finishing it, drunkenly hatched a plan to escape to the world of advertising”.

The first thing we do in our day is...
Remember how lucky we are not to be back in Peckham printing analysts’ reports.
At the moment we are working on...
As creative directors on the new integrated Marmite campaign, trying to crack a global Lipton tea brief, a YouTube brief, and a John Lewis brief.
The best piece of creative work around at the moment is...
Three’s “Pony” campaign by Wieden + Kennedy, London. It’s great when clients buy famous work. It’s rare in these risk-averse times. And the digital side does a great job of getting people involved too.
We are inspired by...
Rob: Armando Iannucci, Jeremy Deller, Mark Wallinger, Lionel Messi. And the one sunny day a year we have in London.
Mike: Kickstarter.
This year we’ll be attending...
Cannes Lions.
The piece of advertising work I wish I had thought of is...
Rob: It’s the campaigns that actually solve business problems you see out there in the real world, that impress me most. Much more than niche one-offs. So Old Spice “The Man Your Man Could Smell Like”, “Good Food Deserves Lurpak” and the Channel 4 “Meet the Superhumans” campaigns are all great.
Mike: The Hailo app. This is brilliant. Everyone who has it loves it, every London cab driver I’ve asked swears by it.
The next big thing in advertising is going to be...
Rob: When you watch people’s behaviour, you can’t help but think that mobile is where things are going. But simple entertainment will also have its place, so TV in some guise feels like it’s going to be here for a long time yet.
Mike: Google's Project Glass looks pretty interesting.
In a film about my life, I’d like to be played by...
Rob: A younger, less good-looking Woody Allen.
Mike: My second-cousin-twice-removed, Russell Crowe.
The screen background on my mobile phone is ...
Rob: A calm azure blue sea, where the lightest of breezes creates ripples across the surface of the water (good to look at after a long day in the office).
Mike: My girlfriend’s hand and my hand making a love heart.
My last social media update said...
Rob: “Splitting my sides at Book of Mormons.”
Mike: It was a Vine post about London weather involving a solar queen.
My dream collaboration is...
Mike: With some tech geeks. This is where the most exciting stuff is happening.
Rob: To work with Pixar.
In up and coming talent, we look for...
People who are nice and work hard.
A piece of criticism I’ve received was...
Rob: Stop thinking about work again Rob and eat your turkey (my mum).
Mike: It wasn’t spoken, but a script was shredded in front of me by my CD.
The last song I listened to was...
Rob: Marvin Gaye. In the back of a minicab coming back from buying the best cake in London.
Mike: “Animus Vox” Glitch Mob.
