Solid Fuel "Rubber Plant" [00:30]# The second spot in the "Solid Fuel" campaign, following the instant classic ad "Furry friends" (1/89 of "Archive: The Video" ) and again directed by Tony Kaye. This time, while the camera shows a brightly burning fireplace we hear the almost 20 year old erotic song "Je t'aime" bye Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin (which was once banned by the Catholic church). Then cut to a daylit room. The fireplace is not in use and in place of the fire there is an ugly rubber plant. On the soundtrack on hears someone clearing his throat with embarrassment, zipping his pants and muttering "I . er ..(sardonic chuckle) . oh, it doesn't matter." Then cut to super: Now you know what people see in a real fire.
